Why Koreans say it this way
담당자 (person in charge) is more common than 매니저 in Korean. 바꿔주세요 (please switch/transfer me) works on phone calls. In Korea, staying calm while complaining gets you much further — the concept of 진상 (difficult customer) is universally dreaded.
