Why Koreans say it this way
단풍 들다 (leaves change color, literally "autumn colors enter") is the seasonal verb. 내장산 (Naejangsan) is Korea's most famous fall foliage mountain. ~놀이 (outing/play) can attach to anything: 벚꽃놀이, 단풍놀이, 눈놀이 (snow play).
